What to expect
Your First Appointment
Your initial appointment is structured, thorough and unhurried.
We begin by taking time to listen carefully to your concerns. You will be asked about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle and goals. This allows us to understand not just where the pain is – but how it is affecting you.
A detailed physical assessment will then be carried out to identify contributing factors and guide treatment planning.
We aim to do the fundamentals exceptionally well: careful listening, thoughtful examination and clear explanation.
Clear explanation
Before any treatment begins we will explain:
- What we believe is contributing to your symptoms
- What treatment options are available
- What you can expect in terms of recovery
Treatment
Where appropriate, treatment may include:
- Hands on therapy
- Targeted mobility or strengthening exercises
- Practical lifestyle advice
- Guidance on managing flare ups.
Follow up appointments
Follow up sessions are typically shorter and focused on:
- Reviewing progress
- Adjusting treatment where necessary
- Progressing rehabilitation
What to wear
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows movement and access to the affected area where possible. Privacy will always be respected.
Reassurance
If at any point we feel your symptoms require further medical investigation, we will discuss this clearly and guide you appropriately.
