Hip And Groin Pain
about hip pain
Hip pain is a common and disabling condition that affects patients of all ages. Patients often express that their hip pain is localized to one of three anatomic regions: the anterior (front) hip and groin, the posterior (back) hip and buttock, or the lateral hip (side). Anterior hip and groin pain is commonly associated with osteoarthritis, FAI or labral tears. Posterior hip pain is often related to lower back conditions. Lateral hip pain occurs with trochanteric bursitis or gluteal tendon problems.
Patients will often describe pain on walking, climbing stairs, getting in or out of a car, putting on shoes and socks or laying on the painful side at night.
